Linux on HP iPAQ 3630 How To

請先準備

• IPAQ H3600/H3700 series
• Compaq AutoSync Serial Cable/Cradle/Modified USB Cable
• Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP machine with serial port

Backup u’re iPAQ

1. Backing up pocketpc image
2. Installing the bootloader
3. Installing the root file system
4. Installing the packages

上述步驟做完後

選擇下載要安裝的GUI

用bootblaster把ARM的Bootldr刷進去，或者備份WinCE

接上console connector後

reboot後看到企鵝的畫面就可以，選第一個』serial bootloader console』

再用hypertrm或是putty程式連線

In the Port Settings tab, choose Bits per second as 115200, Data bits as 8, Parity as None, Stop bits as 1 and finally Flow Control as None. Click OK.

出現

boot> load root

loading flash region root

using xmodem

ready for xmodem download..

請用hypertrm把 task-bootstrap.jffs2傳入，並選擇傳輸方式

Final reset your IPAQ and you will see the Linux booting up on your IPAQ. Enjoy Linux on IPAQ.
